Most people know it’s important to pick the right moisturiser for your face but few know the same is true for your body moisturiser. When the skin is broken and inflamed we recommend Topialyse, but if the skin on your body is scaly, thick and dry, Xerial may be the best option. Here is why:

Skin dryness occurs when the water content of the stratum corneum is sub-optimal. The skin thickens and gets rough when the skin is very dry and dead cells accumulate. When skin flaking and dispersal is too fast (sloughs away in less than 28 days), the stratum corneum thickens in an attempt to slow cell elimination. Ageing, sensitivity, use of medications, hormonal changes and other external factors (cold, dry weather, excessive cleansing, etc.) can aggravate or trigger accelerated skin thickening. Then skin cells then build up on the surface, giving the skin a cracked, scaly, leathery appearance making it rough, tight and flaky.

To eliminate this flaking, roughness and discomfort and to restore soft, smooth skin SVR has formulated XERIAL 10 body milk. It leaves skin intensely hydrated for 48 hours2 and with daily use (thanks to its patented1 technology containing 10% pure urea) it lifts away dead skin cells, eliminates roughness. Urea accelerates skin cell elimination and clears dead skin build-up which allows the penetration of actives and removal of flakes. In addition, panthenol and botanical oils and butters contribute to the glide-on texture. It also relieves tightness and itching and protects from the harsh drying effects of hard water, chlorine, friction and wicking fabrics such as sports clothing and nylon tights which dry out the skin and also contribute to flaking.
