  • Use only as directed. If symptoms persist, see your doctor. Always read the label and the warnings before use.
  • Always use NeilMed Sinus Rinse sachets. Rinsing with plain water alone causes a burning sensation.

How to rinse

  1. Wash your hands. Fill the clean bottle to the marked level with distilled, micro-filtered (0.2 micron), commercially bottled, or previously boiled and cooled water, at lukewarm or body temperature. Do not use tap water unless it has been boiled for at least 5 minutes and cooled.
  2. Cut one sachet at the corner and pour it into the bottle. Tighten the cap and tube, place a finger over the tip of the cap and shake gently to dissolve.
  3. Stand over a sink, lean forward and tilt your head down. With your mouth open and without holding your breath, place the cap against one nostril and squeeze the bottle gently until the solution drains from the other nostril. Some may drain from your mouth. Use about 1/4 to 1/2 of the bottle (60 to 120 ml). Do not swallow the solution.
  4. Blow your nose very gently, without pinching it completely. Spit out any solution that reaches the back of your throat.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the other nostril.
  6. Clean the bottle, cap and tube, then leave them to air dry on a clean paper towel.

How to clean (after each use)

  1. Rinse the cap, tube and bottle under running water.
  2. Add a few drops of dish washing liquid or baby shampoo.
  3. Attach the cap and tube, hold a finger over the opening and shake the bottle.
  4. Squeeze the bottle firmly so the soapy water cleans the tube and cap, then empty it.
  5. Rinse off all the soap and leave the parts to dry on a clean paper towel.
  • Do not rely on a dishwasher to clean the inside of the bottle; the water jets cannot reach through the narrow neck.
  • Check the bottle and tube regularly. If cracks or permanent discolouration remain after cleaning, replace them.
  • Replace the bottle every 3 months.
  • Follow your doctor's advice on how often to rinse.

Do not use tap water unless sterilized by boiling.

For your safety, do not use tap or faucet water for dissolving the mixture unless it has been previously boiled for five minutes or more and then cooled to lukewarm or body temperature, as boiling sterilizes the water. Other choices are distilled, micro-filtered (through 0.2 micron), reverse osmosis filtered, or commercially bottled water.
