How do I take a reading?
Insert a Contour Plus test strip and the meter switches on. Add blood to the strip straight away, then read the result on the display and mark it as fasting, before meal, after meal or no note.
Which test strips and lancets does it use?
It uses Contour Plus test strips and works with the Microlet Next lancing device and Microlet lancets. The kit includes 50 strips and 50 lancets.
What is Second-Chance sampling?
If the first blood sample is not enough, the meter prompts you to apply more blood to the same strip, so you do not need to prick your finger again.
Can I reuse the lancets?
No. Lancets are single use, so discard each one after use. Wash and dry your hands before testing and check that strips are within their expiry date.
Can I change my medication based on my readings?
No. Do not change any medication without talking to your doctor. Share your readings with your doctor and follow the plan they give you.
